Together, We Thrive!

LIFEWS Foundation is advancing Africa’s future by strengthening food, energy, and water systems through ethical, inclusive, and community-driven solutions. Guided by the African philosophy of Lichipu — “Let’s do it together”, we translate knowledge into action by working with schools, communities, and institutions to build resilient systems grounded in shared responsibility.

Our Story

LIFEWS Foundation was founded on a simple but powerful insight: food, energy, and water are inseparable—and sustainable solutions must be ethical, inclusive, and practical. Across Africa, these systems shape daily life, resilience, and dignity.

Guided by the African philosophy of Lichipu“Let’s do it together”— we work with communities, schools, and institutions to turn shared knowledge into measurable action. Our work is delivered through four connected pillars: AgriShine (schools), AgriNext (youth), AgriAble (women), and AgriRoots (communities).

From climate-smart school gardens to agrivoltaic learning models and community systems, LIFEWS bridges ethics, science, and local experience. This journey now leads us to a clear direction—scaling impact, starting with education, and guided by a shared responsibility for people and planet.

What comes next defines who we are becoming: our Vision for the future we seek, and our Mission for how we will build it—together.

What We Do

LIFEWS delivers integrated Food–Energy–Water solutions through four pillars—moving from learning to livelihoods, and from pilots to durable systems.

AgriShine

Climate-smart school gardens that teach sustainability through hands-on learning.

Schools

AgriNext

Youth training and enterprise pathways that convert skills into green livelihoods.

Youth & Skills

AgriAble

Inclusive programs that strengthen women’s participation, capacity, and leadership.

Women & Inclusion

AgriRoots

Community-led gardens and local systems that improve food security and resilience.

Communities

Rooted in Lichipu—“Let’s do it together”—we build solutions with communities, for lasting outcomes.

Our Roadmap

We scale practical climate solutions in clear phases—starting with Climate-Smart School Gardens, then expanding into skills, inclusion, and durable community systems.

Phase 1

Launch School Gardens

  • Install Climate-Smart School Gardens with standard toolkits.
  • Deliver simple learning materials and student-led climate activities.
  • Stand up baseline monitoring for results and improvements.
Phase 2

Build Local Capacity

  • Train teachers, school coordinators, and local facilitators.
  • Strengthen maintenance, governance, and garden continuity.
  • Introduce safety, hygiene, and basic operations routines.
Phase 3

Improve Food & Nutrition

  • Grow practical nutrition learning and garden-to-meal pathways.
  • Support school-to-community replication and adoption.
  • Track harvest output, participation, and continuity indicators.
Scale

Energy & Water Resilience

  • Integrate simple clean-energy and water-stewardship learning.
  • Promote efficient irrigation, reuse, and water literacy.
  • Measure reliability, uptake, and climate resilience gains.
Pathways

Skills → Livelihoods

  • Create youth deployment roles, internships, and practical training.
  • Support micro-enterprise pathways linked to real projects.
  • Connect skills to local demand and ongoing programs.
Durability

Community Systems

  • Strengthen inclusion and community participation in delivery.
  • Build partnerships, shared assets, and cooperative models.
  • Embed accountability so outcomes continue beyond pilots.

Each phase is designed to be measurable and repeatable—so early wins translate into systems that last.

Updates & Highlights
